Saeideh Gharavi
University of California at Sacramento
Over 30 years ago, Saeideh “Fay” Gharavi, a mother to 3 young boys, worked hard to take care of her family. Even with a college education, she worked 16-hour days to make ends meet while her children were watched by relatives and close friends. Every day she missed them and wanted nothing more than to be able to spend time with them and watch them grow up. It was from that desire and love for children that Miss Fay decided to continue her education to open an in-home childcare center. After less than one year of being open, Miss Fay had a waitlist for months. The secret to her success was simple, she treated every child as if they were her own, like family. In 2015, after taking care of her kids and putting them through their higher education, the small in-home childcare center was built Milestones Academy Childcare Center; a family owned and operated preschool and childcare center. With the help of her sons, nieces, nephews, and other family, Milestones was built from the ground up with one purpose in mind, to help make the world a little brighter by giving your children the best foundation for their future in education.

Amir Arami
M.Ed. Special Education / Ba. Psychology
Amir, like his mom Miss Fay, has a deep seeded love for helping students. At a young age, Amir was in a motor vehicle accident that left him bed ridden. After nearly a decade of recovering from a Traumatic Brain Injury, he overcame his obstacles, which motivated him to work with students who were living with the same obstacles he overcame. For the last 8 years, Amir has been working with Autism and Special Education in the public school setting and developing the curriculum for Milestones. Having recently graduated with a Masters in Special Education, he is transitioning into being at Milestones full time to improve the inclusion, S.T.E.A.M., and D.T.T. curriculum.

Taylour is the newest member of the Milestones family and Amir’s wife, which also makes her Fay’s daughter in law. Taylour is currently working on her M.Ed. in Special Education and will be finished in Fall 2021. Taylour grew up surrounded by educators. Her mother was a paraeducator, her sister a general education teacher, and her grandmother owned a childcare center. However, her motivation and love for education comes from working with her Autistic brother. Growing up in a time where Autism was still very new, she watched her brother struggle with his education. This motivated her to work with all children and give them the support that her brother never got.
