Here at Milestones, we are about giving your children the same level of love and care in their education as Miss Fay gave her own children. Through a combination of S.T.E.A.M., D.T.T., and a kinesthetic learning environment, Milestones provides students with a safe, educational, and inclusive environment that they won’t get at another preschool or childcare center.
Science Technology Engineering, Art and Math, is the standard for a successful foundation to a K-12 education. Every whole class, small group, and one on one lesson is structured around one of the 5 major components of S.T.E.A.M. While we aren’t quite calculating the distance to the stars or writing the next great American Novel, yet, we are building the foundation for that. What does S.T.E.A.M. do for your child and why is it important? With S.T.E.A.M. as the theme for all lessons and activities, your child is building critical thinking skills, creative thinking processes, social emotional skills, building new neuro pathways faster than in a traditional educational setting.
D.T.T. is the second part of the Milestones equation. The process of D.T.T. comes from the field of Applied Behavioral Analysis and is used in ABA Therapy. With a foundation of positive reinforcement, this technique is utilized in working with students who are on the Autism Spectrum. Milestones has adopted this method and modified it to reinforce our S.T.E.A.M. lessons and activities for students on or off the Autism Spectrum.
